Justin Taylor Hughes was born in San Angelo, Texas, and raised in Bulverde, Texas. He is a cancer survivor, the founder of The United Creed , LLC, an author, and businessman based in San Antonio, Texas. Justin obtained his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Angelo State University, and he has worked in the retail industry since 2007.

When Justin was diagnosed with cancer at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, he and his wife, Berphy, experienced something truly remarkable. In a strained social climate, an exceptionally diverse community pulled together and helped their family through awful circumstances. It was the community’s commitment to the Golden Rule that made this unity, hope, and resilience possible. Justin and Berphy are passionate about uniting Americans through the Golden Rule so that we can heal our culture from the inside out, one person at a time. Justin and Berphy believe that Be Golden is a path to unity for our very divided country.

Berphy Hughes was born and raised in the beautiful country of Mexico. She is a retired world-class athlete who competed in synchronized swimming for the Mexican national team. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. She practiced physical therapy in Guadalajara for several years, specializing in children with special needs. Berphy was nationalized as an American citizen in 2016, just months before she met Justin in San Antonio, Texas, where they currently raise their three amazing children. Berphy brings a unique blend of athletic discipline and a healer’s heart to The United Creed ’s mission. Her intuition as a mother along with her professional experience as a physical therapist are beautiful illustrations of the values that The United Creed holds dear.
