A Nutrition-Based Perspective on Health, Healing, and Hope

For many years, cancer has largely been explained as a genetic disease—something driven primarily by mutations in DNA. While genetics certainly play a role, this explanation alone does
not fully answer why cancer develops, why it progresses differently from person to person, or why outcomes can vary so widely.

An expanding body of research points to another important layer: cancer as a disease of metabolism. This perspective, often referred to as the metabolic theory of cancer, shifts the focus from genetics alone to how the body produces energy, regulates blood sugar, manages inflammation, and responds to stress.

Looking at cancer through this metabolic lens invites an empowering question: Can the way we nourish the body influence health, resilience, and healing?

How Diet Shapes Health—or Illness

Every cell in the body requires energy to function. Under healthy conditions, cells generate energy primarily through the mitochondria—often called the “power plants” of the cell. These
structures efficiently convert nutrients and oxygen into usable fuel.

However, research has shown that many cancer cells produce energy differently. Instead of relying on efficient mitochondrial pathways, cancer cells often depend heavily on glucose (sugar)
for fuel—even when oxygen is available. This phenomenon, known as the Warburg Effect, was first described in the 1920s and continues to be widely studied today.

Diet directly influences:

• Blood sugar and insulin levels
• Inflammation and oxidative stress
• Hormonal signaling
• Mitochondrial health and energy production

Over time, diets that chronically elevate blood sugar and insulin—especially in the context of stress, inflammation, and nutrient depletion—may create an internal environment that places
strain on normal cellular function.

This does not mean diet “causes” cancer. Rather, it highlights an important concept: Nutrition helps shape the internal terrain of the body—either supporting balance and
resilience, or contributing to metabolic stress.

The Metabolic Theory of Cancer, Explained Simply

The metabolic theory proposes that cancer begins, at least in part, with impaired cellular energy
metabolism, particularly within the mitochondria. When normal energy pathways are disrupted,
cells may adapt by relying more heavily on fermentation of glucose for fuel.

Researchers studying cancer metabolism have consistently observed that cancer cells tend to
show:

• Mitochondrial dysfunction
• Increased glucose dependence
• Reduced ability to use fat and ketones efficiently

This understanding reframes cancer not only as a genetic condition, but also as a metabolic disease influenced by environment, nutrition, and lifestyle factors.

Importantly, this perspective does not deny the role of genetics. Instead, it recognizes that metabolism and genetics interact, and that metabolic stress may influence how genetic mutations
express themselves.

Why Nutrition Matters in a Metabolic Approach

If cancer cells rely heavily on glucose and insulin-driven signaling for growth, while healthy cells retain more metabolic flexibility, nutrition becomes a meaningful area of support.

Metabolic nutrition strategies aim to:

• Stabilize blood sugar and insulin
• Reduce chronic inflammation
• Support mitochondrial function
• Improve metabolic flexibility

One approach that has received growing attention in research is carbohydrate restriction, including ketogenic-style diets. These diets shift the body toward using fat and ketones as a
primary fuel source rather than glucose.

Studies suggest that many healthy cells can adapt well to ketones, while cancer cells often struggle to do so efficiently. This difference may create a metabolic environment that supports
healthy tissue while placing stress on cancer metabolism—particularly when used alongside conventional treatments under appropriate medical guidance.

What the Research Shows

It is important to be clear and responsible: nutrition alone is not a cure for cancer. However, research increasingly supports the idea that metabolic strategies may serve as valuable adjuncts
to standard care.

Clinical and preclinical studies have explored ketogenic and low-carbohydrate diets in cancer contexts, noting potential benefits related to:

• Improved metabolic markers
• Reduced insulin signaling
• Support for energy and strength
• Enhanced tolerance to certain treatments

These findings reinforce a key principle:

The metabolic environment of the body matters—especially during illness.

A Perspective Rooted in Empowerment, Not Blame

A metabolic approach to cancer nutrition is never about fault, restriction, or control. Cancer is complex, multifactorial, and deeply personal.

Instead, this perspective emphasizes supporting the body’s innate capacity for resilience by creating conditions that encourage metabolic stability and cellular health.

Nutritional needs during cancer are highly individual and depend on many factors, including:

• Treatment type and timing
• Nutritional status and muscle mass
• Metabolic health
• Physical and emotional capacity

When nutrition is approached thoughtfully and compassionately, it becomes a way to partner with the body, rather than overwhelm it.

Key Takeaways

• Cancer involves metabolic dysfunction, not just genetics
• Diet influences blood sugar, insulin, inflammation, and cellular energy
• Metabolic nutrition aims to support healthy cells while challenging cancer metabolism
• Research supports diet as a meaningful complement to conventional care
• Individualized, compassionate guidance is essential

Micah Jackson, Worldview Wellness

The Joe Tippens Protocol is an alternative cancer regimen popularized by Joe Tippens, an American who was diagnosed with stage IV small-cell lung cancer in 2016. At the time, his prognosis was extremely poor, with doctors estimating a survival window of just months. Tippens was enrolled in a clinical trial for pembrolizumab (Keytruda), an immunotherapy drug, but he credits much of his remarkable recovery (achieving full remission and remaining cancer-free for over a decade as of 2026) to an unconventional add-on approach he adopted.

Inspired by a veterinarian’s suggestion and preclinical ideas about repurposed drugs, he began self-administering fenbendazole, a benzimidazole anthelmintic primarily used as a veterinary dewormer for parasites in animals. The core protocol typically involves taking approximately 222 mg of fenbendazole daily, sometimes cycled as three days on and four days off, combined with additional supportive supplements. These include bioavailable curcumin, CBD oil, and occasionally vitamin E or other additions like black cumin seed oil in variations. Tippens shared his story through his blog and on social media, sparking widespread interest and anecdotal reports from others who adopted similar regimens for various cancers, including lung, colorectal, pancreatic, prostate, and more.

While Tippens has remained active in discussing his experience and is confirmed alive and in remission in 2026, the protocol has evolved through online communities. I often encounter clients who ask about or have already self-started some version of the Joe Tippens protocol with some users adjusting doses or adding other anthelmintics like ivermectin. The truth about what I have personally seen in my experience as a cancer consultant despite the new encouraging science that has been done on repurposing these drugs for cancer is that the vast majority of these people do not see the same success that Joe Tippens did during his treatment, and almost none of these clients are aware that Joe Tippens was also taking Keytruda, which is now an approved conventional immunotherapy treatment.

The protocol is not a formally approved medical treatment, and Tippens has emphasized it as a personal story rather than universal advice, yet it has gained traction among those seeking options beyond conventional therapies.

The mechanisms of the Joe Tippens protocol in cancer are complex and multifactorial. I tried to keep it light here, but if you don’t want to geek out on the science you may want to skip this paragraph and move on to the next one. The purported mechanisms of the Joe Tippens protocol center primarily on fenbendazole’s potential anticancer effects, drawing from preclinical (in vitro and animal) studies on benzimidazoles. Fenbendazole is believed to disrupt microtubules by binding to β-tubulin, interfering with the formation of the mitotic spindle essential for cell division.

This leads to mitotic arrest (disruption of cell division/proliferation) in rapidly proliferating cancer cells, ultimately triggering apoptosis (programmed cell death), a process very similar to how certain chemotherapy agents like vincristine or paclitaxel function. Additional proposed actions include impairing glucose metabolism due to cancers’ heavy reliance on glycolysis (the Warburg effect) by blocking glucose uptake and reducing energy production, effectively starving tumors of fuel (specifically glucose/sugar which can be augmented with a ketogenic or other low-carb diet). Studies suggest fenbendazole may also induce oxidative stress, activate pathways like p53, interfere with mitochondrial function, and potentially inhibit angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation in tumors). Complementary supplements are thought to enhance these effects synergistically: curcumin modulates inflammatory and signaling pathways (e.g., NF-κB inhibition) that promote cancer survival, while CBD oil may support immune modulation, reduce inflammation, or aid in apoptosis.

In anecdotal accounts, including Tippens’ own narrative, this multi-pronged approach (fenbendazole as the primary agent plus supplements) is credited with tumor regression, improved scans, and sustained remission, even in advanced or treatment-resistant cases. Preclinical data on related benzimidazoles like mebendazole, and other anthelmintics like ivermectin show similar promise across cancer types, and some recent studies over the last few years have explored other beneficial mechanisms like ferroptosis, pyroptosis, or glycolysis suppression via hexokinase 2 downregulation among others. Proponents argue the protocol targets cancer metabolism and cellular infrastructure in ways that standard treatments might not, offering a low-cost, accessible option. However, these mechanisms remain largely hypothetical in humans (outside of anecdotal evidence like from Joe Tippens himself), are derived from lab and animal models rather than controlled clinical evidence, and generally do not include the fact that Tippens’ outcome occurred alongside immunotherapy, complicating attribution to the protocol alone at a minimum.

Despite the compelling anecdotes and preclinical intrigue, the Joe Tippens Protocol is not right for everyone with cancer, and self-administration carries significant risks that demand caution. Foremost among these is the potential for liver toxicity (hepatotoxicity), as fenbendazole and Ivermectin are metabolized primarily in the liver. My personal experience with clients who choose to self-guide the Joe Tippens protocol generally reflect the same patterns (although most of them less severe) of many case reports in the scientific literature documenting severe hepatocellular injury, including jaundice, elevated liver enzymes, and acute liver failure-like presentations, resolving only after discontinuation. For instance, an 80-year-old woman with non-small cell lung cancer developed profound liver damage after one month of use, while other oncology patients on immunotherapy experienced similar issues that mimicked drug-related hepatitis. Individuals with pre-existing impaired liver function common in cancers like hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic disease affecting the liver, or those with cirrhosis, hepatitis, or prior chemotherapy are particularly vulnerable, as reduced hepatic clearance can lead to drug accumulation, amplified toxicity, and irreversible harm.

Surveys of users in regions like South Korea have noted liver abnormalities in a subset of self-administering patients, alongside gastrointestinal issues and potential hematological effects. Higher or prolonged doses that often occur with self-guided care will exacerbate these risks, and interactions with conventional treatments (e.g., chemotherapy or immunotherapy) remain poorly understood. Moreover, I would argue that without robust human clinical trial data the protocol risks delaying or interfering with evidence-based therapies that offer proven survival benefits. This is true regardless of one’s personal choice to engage in conventional treatment, metabolic terrain-based complementary/alternative treatment, or the integrative model which utilizes both. Organizations like the American Cancer Society and FDA (although generally not my favorite groups) rightly emphasize the absence of controlled data, warning against false hope and potential progression of disease that can occur due primarily to delayed onset of organized treatment, and lack of clinical oversight.

Although oncologists do monitor liver function tests (e.g., ALT, AST, bilirubin), they are largely hesitant to be onboard with or recommend the Joe Tippens protocol as they would then be responsible for adjusting for comorbidities, screening for interactions, and integrating any experimental use safely within a broader plan. In the current medical environment (post-covid era), there are multiple additional concerns a conventional clinician must consider with using off-label drugs including political/institutional kick-back, the lack of human data, and ignorance over compassionate use or complementary and alternative medicine use laws which are designed to ensure informed consent (which is definitely a good thing), but can also be quite clunky and confusing to navigate, especially for those in an institutional setting. If this is the case, it is absolutely essential to find a second opinion or functional consultant/clinician who can regularly assess your lab data in order to keep you out of harm’s way.

In short, the Joe Tippens protocol is circulating widely in the online environment largely due to a lack of trust in the conventional medical models’ approach to cancer, but relying solely on anecdotal success stories overlooks the necessary nuanced individual variability perspective in cancer biology, metabolism, and tolerance. While the protocol inspires hope and highlights drug repurposing potential, it is not a substitute for personalized, medically supervised care. Cancer treatment decisions should prioritize evidence, safety, and professional guidance to avoid unintended harm. So, is the Joe Tippens protocol right for you? Maybe… but maybe not. If you’re curious about finding out more about this and other topics in cancer, consider scheduling a consultation at worldviewwellness.com

Detoxifying regimen

e tuned into your health than most folks. Most people that I talk to aren’t even remotely aware of one of the most important aspects of maintaining their health in the modern western world. I am talking about an active detoxifying regimen.

There are a multitude of reasons for why this is the case. First, to maintain the illusion that our society promotes health and wellness, the issue of toxins and chemicals in our society and their impact is rarely discussed leading to ignorance about the subject. Second, once this knowledge is received few people are aware of what they can do to combat this assault on our bodies. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world and corruption is around every corner and under every rock in our society.

The poisons that have been created to facilitate industry in the modern world are not likely going away any time soon. Allow me to bring an informed perspective to arm you with the truth so you can learn how to protect yourself, your family, and your community.

Most of us have at least heard about pollution. Pollution was a big public concern back in the 70’s and 80’s with anti-littering campaigns with imagery of crying native Americans, but since that time the push has been to focus more on climate change, which in my opinion is a big nothing burger compared to the real climate catastrophe of pollution.

There are from time to time news articles about air pollution (the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking), the pollution of our oceans, and fresh water (The great pacific garbage patch, lead in the Flint, Michigan municipal water supply, and the catastrophe from the February 2023 train wreck in Ohio which released multiple toxic chemicals like vinyl chloride into the environment), but these stories rarely make front page news, and even when they do I think most people likely don’t consider them relevant to themselves or their families or communities. The truth is startling to say the least so let me share with you some relevant data that may change the way you think about this issue.

A recent study from the U.S. Geological survey found that nearly half of all tap water in the United States is contaminated with the “forever chemicals” PFAS and PFOS. These chemicals are linked to thyroid disease, cholesterol imbalances, decreased fertility and hormone suppression, liver damage, and also cancer and can be very problematic for health even at very low levels according to the EPA.

Another common practice in municipal water systems is fluoridating the water to reduce cavity formation in teeth, and kill living contaminants, a practice that came directly from the U.S nuclear arms program (Manhattan Project) as fluoride is a nuclear waste byproduct. It was sold to the American public that fluoride improves dental health and reduces cavity formation.

According to the CDC, over 70% of municipal water supplies are still fluoridating water. Fluoride has no beneficial effect on health, and has been linked to dental fluorosis, cancer, arthritis, reduced IQ, adverse effects during pregnancy, and kidney disease. Overall, there have been at least 80,000 new chemicals released into the environment since World War II (although some estimates are as high as 50 million) and most of these have not been adequately tested for their impact on human health as reported in a 2008 study published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences.

This same study also states, “there have been no tests to assess the combined impacts of the “chemical soup” to which children are exposed. WHO, UNICEF, and UNEP have reported a growing number of children’s health impacts caused by exposure to hazardous chemicals, including asthma, birth defects, hypospadias, behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, autism, cancer, dysfunctional immune systems, neurological impairments, and reproductive disorders.” With that being said, it is also true that cancer, autism, and behavioral and learning disorders are now at all-time record highs. Additionally, our domestic food supply is contaminated with herbicides and pesticides, and many of them in the United States are also genetically modified which comes with it’s own set of health problems.

Overall, what most people are completely unaware of is that we are all living in that toxic “chemical soup” that is mentioned in multiple studies. Unfortunately, if you talk to your conventionally practicing healthcare provider about this topic, you will find that they are mostly ignorant about it as we are not trained in medical schools about the relationship between chemicals and health outside of the pharmacology domain.

The assumption of most people corresponds to the old DuPont advertising slogan, and incidentally this same slogan was also uttered by my medical school pharmacology professor, “better living through chemistry.” Public relations, AKA propaganda utilized skillfully by various industries has worked wonderfully to keep most people blind to this imminent and growing threat to our health.

Now that I have taken you deep into the nightmare, let me wake you up and let you know that not all is lost. There are many things that can be done to minimize these impacts and detoxify your body from exposures to these chemicals. The first thing and likely the most impactful strategy that can be employed in this endeavor is to avoid these chemicals in the first place. I highly recommend that people utilize water filtration in their homes to avoid the many chemicals that find their way into the water supply.

I would say that any filtration is an improvement over the inadequacies of the current systems that are in place, but the best filtration is reverse osmosis. These systems can be easily installed under a kitchen sink, or even better installed for the entire home.

Reverse osmosis takes over 99% of contaminants out of the water, but they also take out the good mineral content of the water which is a negative aspect which can be easily overcome by the addition of a re-mineralization or alkalinizing filter to the system. Systems for drinking water installed under the kitchen sink are relative inexpensive ($200-ish).

Whole home systems are quite a bit more expensive and can cost several thousand dollars although they also protect you from absorbing these chemicals through the skin when you are bathing, which can be problematic in some individuals who may be more sensitive to these chemicals. Another tip would be to avoid these harmful chemicals by making more informed choices in the food that you eat. Eliminating or avoiding processed foods including fast-foods are a start.

It is also beneficial to avoid regular eating out in general, as restaurants rarely use organic ingredients and commonly use genetically modified ingredients as they are the least expensive and allow for increased profits. Organic produce, free range grass-fed/finished beef, free-range organic poultry/pork, and wild-caught (not farmed) fish are the best choices.

I regularly hear from people that they are skeptical about the “organic” label, and I completely understand as these foods still can contain “approved” chemicals. However, if you don’t eat from your perfectly clean home garden, the “organic” foods are still a significant step in the right direction. I like to use the phrase, “Eat God food, not man food” to illustrate this point. Man foods come from the commercial agriculture system which unfortunately has become entirely dependent on chemicals.

Think about a cow that is raised conventionally. It is given vaccines, steroids, antibiotics, hormones, and is fed a completely unnatural diet that consists mostly of pesticide/herbicide laden genetically modified grains to speed growth and maximize profits. This combined with the concentration-camp like environment of the feed lot ensures that these animals are unhealthy. People from bygone years who were more intimately connected with their food supply understood that it isn’t good to eat sick or unhealthy animals.

Due to our modern disconnection from where our food comes from, and deceptive labeling laws, it can be very difficult to understand this nuanced approach when deciding what to eat. Another thing to consider would be upgrading your homes HVAC system with HEPA-filtration, or invest in a HEPA air purifier.

Most people are surprised to find out that the air inside your home is likely to be up to 5 times more toxic than outdoor air, according to the EPA and HEPA filters are much more beneficial in reducing this exposure compared to the regular air filters that are commonly used in these systems. Finally, consider the personal-care products and cleaning products that we have in our homes. These products are almost always packed full of toxic ingredients, and there are cleaner options that in some cases are actually much less expensive.

Avoiding these chemicals and toxins with the above strategies will get you started on the path of improved quality of life, but you have already been exposed and are likely carrying a toxic load. The environmental working group (EWG) reviewed a study from the CDC in 2022 and found that over 80% of adults and 87% of children had measurable amounts of glyphosate, the active ingredient in RoundUp, in their urine. So how can we actively detox? The first thing I recommend is typically a sauna done at least 2-3 times per week.

Our skin is one of our most important detox organs, and sweating regularly speeds detoxification. A study from 2015 found that using sauna 4-7 times weekly reduced all-cause mortality by 40% compared to using it only once weekly. And 2-3 times weekly reduced all-cause mortality by 24% compared to once weekly use. This alone is mindboggling. There are very few things I can think of that can give you this level of reduction in all-cause mortality. Any type of sauna will work as long as you can get a good sweat going.

If you’re struggling with sweating while you’re in the sauna or during exercise, it’s a sign that your body’s detoxification system isn’t functioning optimally and you should seek professional guidance. Exercise is another important aspect of detoxification and aids in mobilizing toxins for elimination. To optimize health, I recommend 90-150 minutes per week of moderate cardiovascular exercises like brisk walking, jogging, rowing, or biking, and some sort of resistance training twice weekly.

This can be weights, kettlebell, calisthenics, or resistance bands. Next, castor oil packs over the liver can speed the liver’s ability to process toxins. There are multiple resources online that discuss how to do these and they can be done daily for maximal impact. Another practice that can speed up detoxification is the use of coffee enemas.

Although it may seem odd if you’ve never heard of this, the caffeine in coffee when put in the rectum/colon travels directly to the liver through the hepatic portal vein in the large intestine and improves the liver’s ability to detox. Finally, there are a handful of helpful supplements that can aid in detox through optimizing liver function. These are:

Alpha Lipoic Acid – 600-900mg daily, split into 2-3 doses

N-Acetyl Cysteine – 1200mg daily, split into 2 doses

TUDCA – 500mg daily

In conclusion, following the steps listed above will both limit your toxic exposure and aid in the body’s innate ability to detoxify. Some of these recommendations are more difficult than others to accomplish and some require an investment in resources. Do what you can and what is applicable to your situation, and when you find yourself struggling to make the right decision which will inevitably happen, always remember that comfort and convenience is what kill us.

There are many inexpensive toxic supplements out there that are full of heavy metals, and harmful binders, fillers, and additives. If you don’t have a good place to purchase quality supplements and would like to receive a discount through our online store, visit the Full script link below.

Many people today are looking for easy to implement, do-it-yourself ways to improve health, especially since the beginning of the body-hacking movement which seeks to optimize health by “hacking” an individual’s biochemistry through learning about physiology and implementing changes in nutrition and lifestyle. These do-it-yourself “hacks” which can go viral online are also due to the widespread (and deserved) public mistrust in medicine and science resulting from the mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The good news is there are many ways to positively affect your health without requiring a lot of time or money. Intermittent fasting (IF) is free, saves time, and has massive potential to benefit our health. It may be the most beneficial intervention one can implement considering how easy it is to do.

Fasting in general is very good for people and their health, but due to social norms and widespread metabolic dysfunction, many people are resistant or even outright afraid to consider extended fasts. On the other hand, intermittent fasting is much easier and more convenient to do alongside today’s busy lifestyles. It is quite simply an eating pattern that alternates between eating and fasting according to a pre-determined schedule.

Popular versions of IF include 16/8 where you fast 16 hours of every day and eat during an 8-hour window, 18/6 which restricts the eating window down to 6 hours, the 5:2 approach limits calories on 2 non-consecutive days per week to 500 calories, and a modified approach to 5:2 which I call 0:2 completely eliminates any eating at all on those 2 days per week. Adopting intermittent fasting as part of a healthy lifestyle is a great way to get the ball rolling in the right direction, can be done on a daily/weekly schedule, and is much easier for most people than attempting multiple day extended fasts.

The history of fasting goes back millennia and has been a part of human custom since pre-history, however, it is widely attributed to the ancient Greek culture which employed fasts for both physical and spiritual benefits. When done for spiritual reasons it was thought to enable the individual to rise above their food attachments and addictions and spend more time nourishing their spirits and minds.

The ancient Greek doctor Hippocrates who has the unique distinction of being labeled the “Father of medicine” regularly recommended fasting to his patients for various ailments. This notable historical medical figure is quoted as stating, “fasting is the greatest remedy – the physician within.” Other notable historical physicians such as the Greek Galen, and the Persian Avicenna recommended fasting. Greek philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, and Plutarch all utilized fasting as a means to cure illness, optimize physical condition, and sharpen the mind. Of course, modern Christians and Jews are no strangers to fasting for spiritual reasons and to seek favor with God.

The Bible has 19 mentions of fasting found in both the Old and New Testament via the ancient Hebrew word, “tsom” (Strongs concordance: 06685), and the ancient Greek word “nesteuo” (Strongs concordance: 3522). Muslims fast also as a practice of faith during the Islamic holiday of Ramadan.

Fasting in recent years has experienced a significant decline since the advent of modern pharmaceutical medicine as we can now significantly decrease some of the side effects of chronic disease, although we are simultaneously seeing the effects of this strategy fail as the rates of chronic degenerative disease and cancer are exploding.

Fortunately, this trend may be reversing as contemporary doctors like Dr. Jason Fung, author of “The Complete Guide to Fasting” and “Life in the Fasting Lane” among others is re-discovering the power and potential of fasting. Due to this resurgence, hope is on the rise for the future of fasting.

As mentioned above, there are a multitude of health benefits from intermittent fasting that span all organ systems of the body. It has shown potent protective effects which actively work against the possibility of developing cancer. It improves brain function and cognition. It has also been shown to have the ability to protect against neurodegenerative diseases like epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis. In fact, it is even beneficial in preventing or slowing progression once one has a neurodegenerative condition.

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting also increases HGH or human growth hormone. This hormone which is responsible for the maintenance of muscle and connective tissue throughout life generally declines as we age leading to poor mobility, and keeping naturally increased levels around is related to both extending one’s life, and improved quality of life as we age. It decreases insulin levels and insulin resistance, a major cause of disease in all first-world countries and perhaps the most significant cause of modern chronic disease.

It reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and reduces blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The mechanism behind these is largely improved endocrine/insulin function which has many trickle-down effects. Intermittent fasting also boosts metabolism and enables fat loss for those trying to lose weight.

It also activates many intracellular mechanisms resulting in the creation of natural endogenously produced anti-oxidants designed to fight oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. It likewise speeds up the natural ability to detox; the removal of waste material in the body – a process that is certainly linked to the body’s anti-oxidant status. Finally, intermittent fasting is also known to reduce leptin levels (the obesity protein) thereby increasing healthy production and promoting balance of sex hormones like testosterone and estrogen. These are just a few of the health benefits of intermittent fasting; there are many, many more.

The fact that fasting has been utilized for all of recorded history and is and has been promoted and personally utilized by some of the most influential physicians of all time is without question. Modern medicine experts may tell us there are no panaceas in treating disease, but the truth is that this simple, easy, free intervention has been used as such and is likely one of the closest things we will ever get to a cure-all. The real question is, why aren’t you doing it yet?

Nutrition guidelines

In our current post-modern state, ultra-processed foods represent 60-70% of the average American’s diet. To make things worse, conventional nutrition recommendations from many organizations such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) have been demonstrably wrong since the 1950’s leading many people to overconsume processed carbohydrates and artificial “shelf-stable” fats leading to predictable health outcomes like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, digestive disorders, and neurological/cognitive disorders which are widespread health epidemics.

Even today in first-world countries with modern food supply chains. The health crisis that we find ourselves in is directly related to poor nutrition and lifestyle which has been compounded by propaganda campaigns from the food industry to promote foods which are highly profitable but promote and manifest chronic disease.

In 1968, U.S. Senator George McGovern formed the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs. The resulting guidelines came out in 1977 and were heavily influenced by Ancel Keys, a promoter of the “Lipid Hypothesis” blaming fat consumption for cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. This hypothesis was presented for the first time on January 7th, 1953, when Keys presented a graph during a symposium at the Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City supported by studies he had done based on statistical data from 6 countries during 1948-1949 correlating cardiovascular disease to fat intake.

He reported this correlation as, “…it must be concluded that dietary fat somehow is associated with cardiac disease mortality at least in middle age.” He gave a similar presentation to a World Health Organization expert panel in November of 1955. The largest problem with his presentation of the data was its narrow scope. When looking at a much wider range of data from 22 countries, the correlation between fat consumption and cardiovascular mortality did not look convincing at all. While there was an indistinct loose correlation, it appeared that there was a certain “cherry picking” style of statistical manipulation at the core of his presentation.

In contrast to Keys work, another scientist named John Yudkin published a study analyzing the relationship between various nutrient intakes and coronary mortality in men aged 55-64 in 15 different countries for the year 1952. This study revealed that the relationship with coronary mortality appeared closer with sugar intake than to animal fat, total fat, percentage of fat, or vegetable fat.

As an interesting side note, in the decades of the 40’s and 50’s close to 50% of Americans smoked cigarettes which continued to climb to 60% of Americans by 1960 and neither study attempted to incorporate this confounding variable which is widely known to be a primary factor. In fact, cigarettes were still being promoted as healthy, with health claims such as “They don’t get your wind” (Camel 1935), “gentle on my throat” (Lucky Strike 1937), “Fresh as mountain air” (Old Gold 1946), and even “More doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette” (Camel 1946).

Ultimately, the post-World War 2 period of nutrition science, as with most other fields of science, is marred with conflicting interests between governments, industry, and the health and well-being of the population at large. It should be no surprise at this point that the average person lost in this battle of money and power.

The truth is that science at large has become corrupted, and is now used as a manipulative tool of governments and industry which rarely represents truth. Nutrition is very complex, and cardiovascular mortality is a result of poor lifestyle choices including smoking, being sedentary, increased availability of sugar in the diet, artificial ingredients including fats/sugars/colors/preservatives, and the fact that the majority of American’s diets consist of processed and ultra-processed “shelf-stable” foods which are not compatible with health.

There is also a growing list of harmful chemicals in our environment which has been steadily growing since WW2. I generally recommend taking a “God food, not man food” approach which simply avoids processed foods, added sugars, and artificial ingredients. Returning to God’s provision and avoiding dependence on man’s is never bad advice.

The most familiar nutritional recommendation to many Americans in my generation is the food pyramid. The food pyramid most of us remember from childhood first evolved in Sweden in the early 1970’s in response to high food prices. Soon after this, similar food pyramids were made in other Scandinavian countries, Germany, Japan, and Sri Lanka.

The United States adopted its own version in 1992. The USDA food pyramid was initially divided into six horizontal sections with depictions of foods from each section’s food group and the recommended daily serving. At the bottom of the pyramid is the largest group consisting of bread, cereal, rice, and pasta, recommending 6-11 servings daily. Above grains are vegetables with recommendations for 3-5 servings, followed by fruits with recommendations for 2-4 servings.

The next group is meats, dry beans, eggs, and nuts with recommendations for 2-3 servings. Dairy is the next group including milk, yogurt, and cheese with recommendations for 2-3 servings. Finally, at the very top of the pyramid in the section that should be restricted the most according to the recommendations, there are fats, oils, and sweets that should be “used sparingly”.

The problem in these recommendations is obvious to anyone who has ever dabbled in nutrition, especially in the last 20 years with the widespread knowledge of the ketogenic and paleogenic diets which are essentially the opposite of the food pyramid at the extremes. What the food pyramid recommended is essentially the opposite of the ketogenic or paleo style diets with a high consumption of processed refined grains and very low levels of fat (and with an emphasis on the artificial “healthy” fats).

It should be no surprise with these recommendations that the average American has low levels of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K which are necessary for a healthy metabolism and immune function. Interestingly, artificial hydrogenated, trans-fats like margarine were popular at the time as they were mistakenly thought to be health foods, and they were listed on the original food pyramids in the fat section. Limiting or eliminating altogether these unhealthy artificial fats should be seen as a good thing in reality.

Another interesting point in the development of food pyramids is that while on the surface it seems like governmental bureaucracies giving practical guidelines on nutrition to its citizenry, behind the scenes these same agencies are engaged in a massive conflict of interest. This controversy surrounding the food pyramid focuses on the conflict between the federal protection of the rights of food lobbyists to act in their own self-interest, and federal responsibility to promote the nutritional health of the public.

What has become clear is that governmental agencies like the USDA, CDC, and FDA have sided with large corporations and become increasingly captured by industry through a process called regulatory capture. They therefore no longer serve the interests of the governed to any substantial degree, so buyer beware.

Ultimately, what all this means is that we are on our own when it comes to nutrition, wellness, and health, so we must educate and care for ourselves to the degree we can. A favorite quote of mine is from an ancient Japanese samurai named Miyamoto Musashi. He states, “Truth is not what you want it to be; it is what it is, and you must bend to its power or live a lie.”

If we take this quote to heart and apply it to this topic, it means that we must take responsibility for our health personally, rather than delegate that role to any outside agency since they have become corrupted and no longer serve their intended purposes of protecting the public. We should all become warriors of truth and health in the coming age, and if we do so we will be better served.

If you want to learn more about nutrition and its relation to health, I highly recommend reading an old classic by Weston A. Price – Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.

Cancer Treatment

I can testify that finding the right cancer treatment can be an overwhelming decision. There are treatments available in other countries that really do work. However, there are a lot of scammers that prey upon the venerable. The best tip I can give you is to make sure the organization has an oncologist on staff.

I am not a doctor and am not qualified to give medical advice, but I am qualified to share my story. The organization I used is located in Cancun, Mexico. I am forever grateful that I received a cutting-edge new cancer treatment. It is currently in clinical trials in the United States, but it is only FDA approved in USA trials for a few types of cancer. The scientist from the USA opened a clinic in Mexico, where he uses this cutting-edge treatment to treat all solid tumors (not able to treat blood cancers).

It is my understanding that the reason cancers manifest in the body because the immune system is not recognizing the threat and dealing with it like it does when it recognizes and deals with a virus and other illness. I believe this cutting-edge new treatment got my immune system involved in the battle far greater than the immunotherapies that I received as standard care in the USA. My understanding is that conventional immunotherapies rev up the immune system, but they do not train your immune system to recognize the threat.

The treatment I received trained the commander cells of my immune system to recognize my cancer and fight it. This is the most effective way I have found to get the immune system aimed at the target, after you are aimed at the target, I believe revving up your immune system with conventional immunotherapy treatments will make them much more effective. Before I received this new cancer treatment, I was experiencing rapid progression, so I chose to take chemo after this treatment trained my immune system, and my disease became no longer detectable on my signatera report within a few months.

Big Pharma

Why is this treatment not available to all cancer patients? I believe I have the answer. My Cabometyx and immunotherapies cost about $25,000 to $30,000 a month, and that is just money from me, a single cancer patient. Imagine how much money that is for all cancer patients in America. The CDC said there were about two million new cases in just 2022. If all new cancer cases are receiving the same conventional treatment as I did, that would mean Big Pharma makes at least $720 billion on new cancer patients each year.

That number is a bit inflated because the older Chemotherapies are not as expensive as the treatments I was taking, but the bottom line is Big Pharma would be losing big money if an effective treatment for cancer were available to every cancer patient in America.

There is plenty of evidence that proves the Big Pharma corporations have knowingly developed extremely addictive opioid drugs that can easily kill people. Big Pharma marketed the drugs to doctors and provided financial incentives for them to prescribe the addictive substances. This business has boomed from 1990’s to present day. Hundreds of thousands of people died because of the opioid epidemic. According to the CDC, from the years 1999-2021, nearly 645,000 people lost their lives due to an overdose involving an opioid.

It is no secret that Big Pharma has a long history of unethical behavior. Behavior that makes them rich, and creates suffering for the people. I can tell you from my own experience that Big Pharma is also not behaving ethically in the arena of cancer care. I want to be clear; I have received the conventional treatments and I am very grateful they have worked well for me, but there are some excellent new cutting-edge treatments that are not getting enough attention.

The Future of Cancer Treatment

At Immunocine Cancer Center, I received Immunocine Dendritic Cell Treatment (IDCT) utilizes a vaccine that is made using the patient’s tumor tissue and dendritic cells. Scientists discovered in the 1990’s that dendritic cells function as the commanders of the immune system. These cells tell your immune system how and when to deal with an issue. No one could figure out how to get the dendritic cells to recognize a problem and deal with it until 2004. Scientists soon discovered how to train dendritic cells to kill cancer.

Doctors harvest the patient’s dendritic cells from their blood. After that, they double load the dendritic cells in the tumor tissue’s DNA, meaning they load dendritic cell on the inside and also on the outside of the cancer DNA they want to destroy. This double loading technique is what makes the dendric cells recognize and attack the cancer cells. After the dendritic cells are trained, they are injected back into the patient’s body close to a healthy draining lymph node. This placement allows the trained dendritic cells to travel throughout the entire body and teach the rest of the immune system how to attack the cancer DNA.

Despite the fact that this treatment is effective with any solid tumor types of cancer, only cancers of the brain and pancreas are being explored in FDA clinical trials. Patients with other types of cancer cannot be treated in the United States. I had to flee the United States and the regulatory reach of the FDA to receive IDCT for my advanced stage unclassified kidney cancer. The treatment is not covered by insurance, and it cost about $100,000 to pay for the travel and medical expenses.

The CDC says annual cancer cases will increase by 49% in the years between 2015 and 2050. IDCT can work for almost any kind of cancer, and the positive response rate is much better with far less side effects when compared to chemotherapy and other conventional treatments. My opinion is this should be the first treatment for all solid tumor cancer cases because I believe conventional treatments will work better after the immune system is trained to join the fight.

The United Party invites you to take responsibility for coming together and bringing healing to our country. The United Party is raising money to bring cutting edge new cancer treatments to as many cancer patients as possible. We the people are responsible for coming together to heal our toxic culture. Be Golden is our path to unity and resolution. One third of your donations to The United Party go towards our cancer mission.

Holistic Wellness and Weight Loss

One of the most popular web search terms in recent years has been “weight loss”. When checking Google trends, it is obvious that this search term explodes every January with well-intentioned folks desiring to apply healthy New Year’s resolutions. When looking at related topics and queries, it’s easy to see that many people are interested in medicines to help them with weight loss.

Stimulant medications with high levels of adverse side-effects like Fen-Phen in the 90’s era have been used consistently at weight-loss clinics around the country. The Phen part of this, an amphetamine drug called phentermine is still used widely, and from my personal experience is used incorrectly and dangerously for profit at a high percentage of weight loss clinics.

The newer pharmaceutical trend is the increasingly common off-label use of diabetes drugs for weight loss, especially the GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic/Wegovy (semaglutide), and Mounjaro (tirzepatide). As of 2014, a study published in the American Journal of Public health revealed that national data from web trends suggest that 64% of Americans are trying to lose weight and 48% are following a weight loss strategy. The conclusion of this study was, “The weight loss information that people are likely to access online is often of substandard quality because most comprehensive and quality web sites rank too low in search results.”

It is also clear from more modern studies that as time progresses more and more Americans are struggling with their weight, which in my opinion is the purposeful obfuscation of nutritional guidelines, the deception of promoting pharmaceuticals to treat symptoms for profit, and a lack of clarity on what the actual underlying cause of weight gain is.

There is currently no consensus on the underlying cause of weight gain. It is a very dynamic process, and every individual is unique in the variables that are most influential, however there are 2 main schools of thought on the root cause. The conventional, standard-of-care doctors seem to mostly be on the side of CICO which is an acronym that stands for “calories in, calories out” and is a concept that has been around since the 1920’s and states that creating a calorie deficit leads to weight loss.

We’ve all heard the tag line, “eat less and exercise more” that is a staple of the CICO model leading to weight loss and is employed by major weight loss companies like Weight Watchers. Although this model can work for some people, this approach ignores the importance of diet quality, macronutrients, and other factors that influence health and weight. It generally also utilizes a “low-fat” approach, as fats are more calorie dense macronutrients.

This is easily exemplified by the highly processed, low calorie/low-fat/low nutrition foods that companies like Weight Watchers sell to their clients. The other camp, made up of a cohort of more holistic practitioners not associated with conventional, standard-of-care medicine, seem to be promoting true nutrition by restricting processed foods (especially carbohydrates and sugar) and increasing the amount of healthy fat people consume via a Ketogenic, Paleogenic, or Mediterranean style diet. In practice, it is easy to see that weight is not a function of caloric intake alone. We have all known people who fit into the following dichotomy:

Obese and consume very low amounts of calories.

Thin and consume high levels of calories.

If the CICO model is true, these circumstances would not exist. There has to be an alternative explanation. The truth is that weight is tied to metabolism, and metabolism can be affected by a variety of different factors. Let’s dive in to see some of the details that can encourage increased metabolic flexibility and weight loss. Holistic Wellness

As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, recent studies show that over 60% of the average American diet (67% among youths) consists of “ultra-processed foods”, leading to dramatic increases in obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, mental health issues, cancer, and all-cause mortality. The reasons for these data is multi-variable and extremely complex including but not limited to:

They are processed for shelf stability

They are calorie dense and have low nutritional quality

They are almost without exception low-fat

They are made with genetically engineered foods (GMO’s) that are not compatible with health

They are filled with toxins from commercial agricultural processes as well as the processing facility processes (pesticides/herbicides/preservatives/coloring agents/flavors/bulking agents/thickening agents/etc).

While it is true that some people do lose weight on plans derived from the CICO model such as Weight Watchers, it is also associated with adverse health due to the highly processed nature of the recommended foods. It is common for people engaged in this style of weight loss to be undernourished and have multiple vitamin deficiencies due to the highly processed nature of the food they are eating. Weight Watchers contends that all the vitamins and minerals you need can be obtained through eating enough fruits and vegetables, but the average American only eats 3 servings daily, and 9 would be required to obtain adequate nutrition based on a 2000 calorie diet.

To make things worse, the point-based system does not require you to eat any fruits or vegetables. In clinical practice, I also have made the correlation of gall bladder disease and subsequent gall bladder removal surgery in people who have been on weight watchers, and other low-fat diets at rates significantly above people who have not.

This is due to the function of the gall bladder which is to add bile to the digestive system for the purpose of processing and utilizing fats and fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. Studies show that in the past few decades, Americans have become more and more deficient in these vitamins leading to increased rates of cancer, type 2 diabetes, immune system disorders, and many other morbidities.

Holistic Wellness

Medical schools across the country are still teaching students that the gall bladder is a “vestigial” organ, meaning that we have “evolved” away from it being a necessary part of the human body and don’t need it anymore.

This is false. Human beings do not have any parts that do not have a specific function in the body, however there are many things about the body that modern science does not know, a fact that many doctors and scientists are reluctant to admit in their hubris. At the end of the day, there are many other problems with this style of diet, but they are all related to poor food quality which has already been covered, so let’s talk about what you can do!

It’s not rocket science to eat a healthy diet and lose weight. Hypothetically, if overnight the processed food industry vanished and people had to revert to eating real food, the obesity crisis would be over, and my blog wouldn’t be necessary. However, that isn’t likely to happen as this industry spends billions of dollars lobbying congress. To keep it simple, my first recommendation to clients of mine is typically this: “stay hydrated and eat God food, not man food.” Staying hydrated shouldn’t be too hard. Shoot for 80 ounces of healthy fluids daily and add more if you need more due to being outside in the summer, saunas, exercise regimens, or other factors.

God foods have 1 ingredient, man foods have an ingredient list. God foods are grown organically using natural principles to optimize production, man foods use corrupted science-based chemical strategies. Animals that are God food eat what nature intended them to eat. Cows that are fed GMO grains are not God food.

Cows that eat 100% grass are because that is what their digestive systems are designed to process. Animals that are kept in pins or corrals and not allowed to roam free to forage for food are not God food. Free-range animals are. Animals that are given antibiotics, vaccines, hormones, and steroids are not God food. God food animals that are raised in the right environment do not need these interventions with few exceptions. God food dairy is raw.

Dairy that has been radiated, pasteurized, and homogenized is man food. A good grocery store strategy to keep with God food is shop around the periphery of the store. The man foods that come in boxes, bags, and packaging are commonly found in the center of the stores, and you will find meats, produce, dairy, and other God foods around the outside. Another thing to consider is to avoid eating out as much as possible. When you eat out, you are eating man food. Eating God foods are an essential part of improving nutrition which leads to weight loss due to improved function of the human body.

I’ve already written way too much for this blog but want to also advocate for being outside enough and exercising regularly. We are designed to be outside. Multiple studies show that being outside regularly improves our sense of wellbeing and lowers anxiety, depression, and cortisol levels leading to better metabolic control.

We should be outside at least 30 minutes daily, preferably in a place that looks like nature, not concrete and high-rises. Additionally, the CDC put out pretty good recommendations for physical activity in it’s 2018 guidelines which state that 150 minutes per week of moderate cardiovascular activity, and some form of resistance training to maintain or build muscle mass twice weekly were associated with weight reduction and additionally a 40% reduction in all-cause mortality.

Finally, it’s very difficult to lose weight when you are stressed out due to the cortisol effect which tends to push the human body to have increased glucose and cortisol levels leading to excess weight that is difficult to lose. Some of my most difficult patients/clients have struggled with this issue and it takes a lot of work to open their minds to this possibility (Romans 12:2).

If you are eating right, getting enough outside time, and are exercising and not losing weight, you should strongly consider the amount of stress in your life and its effect. I encourage you to develop regular time for yourself to engage in a hobby or activity that brings you peace and joy and resist the temptation to be overcommitted or a workaholic. Start practicing that dreaded word, no.

Too much stress, even if it doesn’t necessarily feel too stressful for you (something I hear all the time), is a killer. Most people don’t have the introspective ability to know how stressed they are for a variety of emotional/psychological reasons that are too nuanced to be discussed in this context. If you think this isn’t you, ask a spouse or a close friend for their perspective. It might give you valuable insight and prompt a much-needed change for the better.

In conclusion, what all these factors have in common is they encourage homeostasis (maintenance of optimal body function) through improvements in complex intracellular and extracellular communication via endocrine and exocrine hormones, cytokines, neurotransmitters, receptors, and a whole assortment of other mechanisms. This upgraded ability to optimize communication in the body optimizes its metabolic output, the result of which is maintenance of health and a healthy weight. I think one of the most influential quotes I’ve ever seen in relation to this comes from the father of medicine, Hippocrates, who said, “Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.” I encourage you to follow this ancient advice in the modern times we live. and be well.

The Power of God

Peace in Adversity

God’s power possesses supernatural strength that brings hope, love, gratitude, and comfort in times we need it most. I am living proof that turning to God in faith during times of intense adversity will bring you strength, peace, joy, hope, love, and comfort. I was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, after several surgeries and conventional treatments, I was in a panic, thinking the treatments were not going to work for me. I understood that I could not make it by the power of my own strength or wisdom. I had to surrender completely to God.

This revelation came to me in my first Freedom Prayer session at CrossBridge Community Church on November 7, 2022. I was at my lowest point. This prayer session crucified my old self and the spiritual lies I had been believing, and it resurrected me a new creation. I was no longer controlled by fear, anxiety, and anger because I completely surrendered everything to God. To trust God with everything, that is a path to experiencing God’s power.

God Works through People

The cancer treatments took a major toll on my gastrointestinal tract. In February of 2023, the immunotherapies caused an autoimmune disease called ulcerative colitis. I began to experience unbelievable pain, which lasted about eight weeks. My excruciating pain was from a gigantic duodenum ulcer caused by Cabometyx. The pain was so intense that it would radiate in my shoulder blades and chest. I was in so much pain I was pacing up and down the hallway of our house all day and night. My suffering was intense, but I was doing my best to put up a strong front for my family and friends. Then, I broke.

On Thursday, March 23, 2023, I prayed desperately to God. I was angry with Him, and I let Him have it. “What the hell is this all about, God?” “What are you trying to teach me in all this suffering?” I curled up in a ball on my bed and cried out in surrender to God. I confessed that I couldn’t take the pain anymore; I couldn’t keep living in misery.

I shouted at God and demanded answers. He usually responds quickly, but this time, my mind’s eye was completely dark; my inner voice was completely silent. Then, about 18 hours later, I started vomiting large amounts of blood, and my wife called an ambulance. I was admitted to the hospital, and my initial endoscopy revealed the ulcer in my duodenum.

While I was in the hospital, I remembered that God had spoken to me about stopping the chemo pill weeks ago, but I didn’t obey. As I lay in the hospital bed waiting for my procedure to stop the internal bleeding, I continued to wrestle with my failure to place my trust in God. I had many visitors spend time with me, including my friends Hans Huberland and Darrell Geisendorff. Immediately after they walked into the hospital room, Dr Rodriguez showed up.

Darrell and Hans left the room so I could talk with him, and he told me we had to stop chemo. We talked about a few other things, and then Dr. Rodriguez left. Darrell and Hans came back into the room, and I told them what the oncologist had just said to me. Darrell started to get choked up, and he pulled out his phone and called his wife, Courtney Darrell put the phone on speaker and asked her to tell me what God had shared with him as they were on a walk earlier that week.

Courtney said, “The Holy Spirit put it on Darrell’s heart that Justin needs to stop taking the chemo pill.” Darrell thanked her and hung up the phone, and then he confessed to me that when the Holy Spirit gave him that message, he asked God or a doctor to deliver it. Darrell told God it was not his place to deliver this kind of message.

And sure enough, at the exact time Darrell and Hans showed up to visit me in the hospital, Dr. Rodriguez arrived and delivered the news that Darrell asked God to deliver me. Dr. Rodriguez told me I had to stop taking the chemo for at least five weeks, and possibly forever. This was a convicting moment for me, but it encouraged me to simply pray and obey, and to expect for God’s power to be present in my life when I stay true to that simple formula.

Randy Robinson also came to visit. Randy noticed when I was sharing my story about what brought me to the hospital, Jeanette (one of my nurses) was shaken. Randy asked Jeanette if there was anything we could pray for in her life. Jeanette began to cry and share with us that she lost her sister to internal bleeding when she was just a child.

Jeanette shared how she was carrying guilt from not being able to save her sister when she began to vomit blood. She also told us about having tension with her family because of it. Randy prayed for her, she began to cry, and a peace came over her. Jeanette exchanged guilt for spiritual truth from the God of goodness.

She left feeling proud of how she was living out her sister’s legacy. Jeanette shared with us how much better she felt after Randy prayed for her. It was truly an amazing experience to watch the power of God at work from my hospital bed—the Holy Spirit used Randy to heal Jeanette from what appeared to be years of spiritual and emotional trauma.

The Holy Spirit Heals

God’s power after a few days of waiting in the hospital, I was scheduled for the procedure to stop the internal bleeding. It took place on March 28, 2023. In this procedure, the doctor hit a main artery. This is when I had the near-death experience that I described in the near death experience blog. After all the dust settled, I was alive and stable in ICU.

Berphy later shared with me a prophetic image that she was given while I was in the critical stages of the emergency. It was an image of Jesus standing over my body and using his hands to apply pressure and stop the bleeding. While I was in recovery in ICU, my friend Duane Schlottke came by to visit and pray with me.

He shared a prophetic vision the Holy Spirit had given him. Duane saw Jesus take me from death to life, and he felt the emotions of everyone that was in the room saving my life. Duane teared up as he explained what the Holy Spirit had revealed to him. This prophetic ministry brought me strength, comfort, and encouragement when I needed it most.

On March 31, 2023, the Holy Spirit led my friend Hans Huberland to share a Scripture with Berphy and me. It was the story of the woman with the bleeding issue in Mark 5. Like me, she had been seen by many doctors who could not heal her, and she had suffered greatly. She was healed the instant she touched Jesus’s clothes.

Jesus told her that it was her faith that healed her, to go in peace, and to have no fear. Hans encouraged me to continue to expect for God’s power to be present in my life.

As I was confined to the hospital bed with a breathing tube down my throat, I was encouraged to obey God like never before. I spent much of this time praying for the same power that raised Christ from the dead to be present in my life. I closed my eyes and asked God to show me how He saw me. Then, I waited for Him to give me something. He gave me a vision. I saw myself walking out of the hospital, playing baseball with my boys, and taking a stroll with Blake and Berphy.

I envisioned myself living the healthy life that I was praying for. This stirred my heart with gratitude and courage. I was discharged from the hospital on April 2nd, and I embraced life with a much deeper passion.

Faith Brings Supernatural Strength

Two months after my discharge from the hospital, the cancer came back again. Before I discovered Freedom Prayer, I struggled a lot when receiving bad news regarding my health. After I discovered Freedom Prayer, I learned that I could meet with the God who holds the entire Universe in perfect harmony, I also learned that I could access God’s power any time I choose. I learned that those meetings are where God’s power will give your heart everything it needs to face whatever is in front of you.

When Dr. Rodriguez called me to deliver the news, I couldn’t believe that I was five times sicker than I ever had been. However, I was not consumed with fear, anxiety, or hopelessness.

Freedom Prayer had taught me how to cut through all the darkness and maintain a strong connection with God’s power. After Dr. Rodriguez called to deliver this news, I hung up the phone and went into my room. I closed the door and sat in silence just meeting with God. I asked Him to reveal Himself to me.

I closed my eyes and waited on Him to communicate something to me. He gave me an image of Jesus holding me like a loving father holds His precious child. It was filled with an “I’ve got this” kind of a feeling that comforted my heart and mind. God assured me that He was in control, that all I needed to do was pray, wait for Him to speak, and then obey.

Freedom Prayer freed me from the boundaries of the flesh, and it allowed me to experience the power of God in the form of supernatural strength. As I prayed, I asked God to show me what he wanted me to know. God gave me an image of Jesus and I strolling down a trail together at my aunt and uncle’s ranch.

We were smiling and laughing, just strolling along talking and not worrying about anything. It reminded me that my strength comes from trusting Him, faith in God’s power is a path to the power of God.

Freedom Prayer has the power to breath the power of God’s power back into American culture.

Give to our cause and help us breath morality and virtue back into American culture. One-third of your donations do towards helping freedom ministry train every church across the country.

Movement in general is necessary for optimal health. Exercise is just purposeful movement with the intent of maximizing health and outcomes. In recent years and in tandem with the decline in smoking rates, a sedentary lifestyle has become widely known as “the new smoking”.

Why is this? A recent study from 2020 correlated sedentary lifestyles with reduced lipoprotein lipase activity, reduced muscle glucose levels, reduced protein transporter activities, impaired lipid metabolism, and diminished carbohydrate metabolism. Furthermore, it decreases cardiac output and systemic blood flow while at the same time activating the sympathetic nervous system, which ultimately reduces insulin sensitivity and vascular function resulting in even more problems with sex hormone stability and digestive capacity.

The end result is inability to maintain a healthy weight, chronic inflammation, and widespread metabolic dysfunction which has come to be the norm in the American population. Sedentary lifestyles contribute almost more than any other single factor to the health crisis we face as Americans whether we are discussing something as seemingly benign as high blood pressure or as serious as a terminal cancer diagnosis.

The common misconception about exercise is that it is all about burning calories. This theory of the purpose of exercise contributes to a more comprehensive understanding known as the “calories in – calories out” model of metabolism. The problem with this is simply that it is not true.

Everyone has known at least one person who is largely overweight or obese and eats relatively little, and to the contrary someone who is very thin and eats like a horse! The reason for this is that our metabolisms are quite complicated and there are an almost infinite number of variables. One would be our diet. Another our microbiome. Yet another would be our activity level.

Ultimately, it is the efficiency of how our body communicates with itself that makes the difference in maintaining health and wellness. This intricate process is controlled through highly complex signaling systems that orchestrate the body’s internal harmony. These systems enable one cell to communicate seamlessly with its neighbor, allow distant tissues to relay information to one another, and coordinate activities across organ systems. Such communication is achieved through electrical signals that flow along nerves, chemical signals carried by hormones and neurotransmitters, and even quantum mechanisms that are not yet fully understood by modern science.

Movement

Electrical signaling forms the backbone of rapid communication, such as the transmission of nerve impulses that allow us to react instantly to stimuli. Chemical signaling, on the other hand, facilitates slower, more sustained messages, regulating processes like growth, metabolism, and immune responses. Emerging research into quantum biology suggests that quantum phenomena may play a role in critical processes such as enzyme activity and even DNA repair, underscoring the complexity of these systems.

When these signaling pathways function optimally, the body maintains balance, adapting efficiently to challenges. However, disruptions in these pathways, often caused by poor diet, stress, or environmental toxins, can lead to miscommunication and the breakdown of systems, highlighting the importance of nurturing the body’s signaling mechanisms.

Exercise is a crucial factor in managing how well these communication systems function as they are exercised every time you perform physical work. The more you exercise, the better these communication systems function and the better your body works. Calories have very little to do with exercise when you get right down to it.

Of the most accepted recommendations for physical exercise are the 2018 guidelines from the CDC. This also keeps it super simple, which is certainly a plus. The guidelines are:

Adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week – such as 30 minutes daily, 5 days a week.

Adults also need 2 days per week focused on muscle-strengthening activity.

It’s that simple! Work yourself up to that level of activity and you will effectively reduce your all-cause mortality risk by 40%. For a much more impressive reduction in all-cause mortality add in regular sauna 3x weekly to keep your body free from toxins, and regular cold-therapy to exercise your autonomic nervous system. That’s what we call living well!

Benefits of Daily Movement for Overall Health

Daily movement plays a vital role in maintaining and improving overall health. It doesn’t have to be rigorous exercise; even light physical activities such as walking, stretching, or engaging in household chores can have a profound impact. Regular movement boosts cardiovascular health by improving blood circulation and reducing the risk of heart disease. It enhances muscular strength and joint flexibility, making daily tasks easier and reducing the likelihood of injuries. Additionally, movement aids in digestion, helping the body process nutrients more efficiently.

Mental health benefits are equally significant. Daily movement releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, which combat stress, anxiety, and depression. It also improves sleep quality, ensuring the body gets the rest it needs to function optimally. Moreover, consistent movement can enhance brain function, improving memory and focus. By incorporating movement into your daily routine, you create a foundation for long-term physical and mental well-being.

How to Incorporate More Movement into Your Daily Routine

Adding more movement to your daily routine doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small, manageable changes can make a big difference over time. Start by setting reminders to stand up and stretch every hour, especially if you have a desk job. Incorporate walking into your day by parking farther away from entrances or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

Household chores like cleaning or gardening can also double as physical activity. You can make your errands more active by biking instead of driving or walking while carrying your groceries. If you’re at home, try short bursts of exercise during TV commercial breaks, such as squats or light stretching. Social activities like dancing, playing sports, or taking walks with friends or family are great ways to stay active while enjoying quality time.

Gradually, these small habits can build up, making movement a natural and enjoyable part of your daily life.

Easy Physical Exercises for Beginners at Home

Starting a fitness journey doesn’t require a gym membership or fancy equipment. There are plenty of easy exercises you can do at home to improve your fitness level. Begin with bodyweight exercises such as squats, push-ups, or lunges, which strengthen muscles and improve coordination. These exercises can be modified to suit your fitness level, ensuring they remain accessible.

Yoga and stretching routines are also excellent for beginners, improving flexibility and reducing stress. For cardio, try low-impact activities like walking in place or dancing to your favorite songs. Resistance bands can add variety to your workouts without taking up much space.

Consistency is key, so aim for short, manageable sessions—10 to 15 minutes a day—and gradually increase duration as you build strength and confidence. With time, these simple exercises can significantly enhance your physical fitness and set the stage for more challenging routines.

Importance of Movement for Mental Health and Well-Being

Movement isn’t just beneficial for the body; it’s a powerful tool for improving mental health and well-being. Physical activity triggers the release of endorphins, which are natural chemicals that elevate mood and create feelings of happiness. Regular movement can also reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol, helping you feel calmer and more balanced.

Exercise, even in moderate forms like walking or yoga, can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. It boosts self-esteem and provides a sense of accomplishment, which can be especially helpful during challenging times. Additionally, movement enhances cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain, improving memory, focus, and overall mental clarity.

Engaging in physical activity also promotes better sleep patterns, essential for mental health. Whether it’s a brisk walk, dancing, or stretching, incorporating movement into your routine can create a positive feedback loop that benefits both the mind and body.

The Future of Tech and Humanity

Technology is a very powerful tool.

Tools can be used to do wonderful things; tools can also be used to do awful things.

My wife and I are living proof that technology has the power to unite people of different cultures. In August of 2016, we matched online and never looked back after our first date. My wife and I would have never met if it wasn’t for technology. Attending church online during the pandemic inspired us to commit our lives to God. The greatest contribution of the information age is that the word of God is more easily available. It is also important to recognize that the enemy has a long history of using tools to distract us from our compass of joy, our connection with the God of love and compassion.

Tech advancements are happening faster and faster in the present day. This rapid rise in tech has produced a time starved generation. We sacrifice our health and safety in exchange for cheap entertainment. We accept awful nutrition into our bodies because it is fast food, and we buy healthy pre-prepped meals at the supermarket because we don’t have time to cook. We risk our safety every time we check our phones while we are driving. Worst of all, we neglect our connection with God.

Some people are even having conversations about interfacing the human body to the Internet. Consider the words of Klaus Schwab, the founder of the World Economic Forum. At a World Economic Forum event on May 13, 2019, he said, “What the fourth industrial revolution will lead to is a fusion of our physical, our digital, and our biological identities.”

AI Promises to…

Artificial intelligence (AI) has received considerable research and funding. AI promises to make our lives easier by doing much of our thinking for us. The promise of AI is that it will create a race of superhumans that will have fully integrated AI, unbelievable physical abilities, and immortality. But we must also consider the massive risks of AI. Machines that do our thinking for us can be a great thing for humanity. But what happens when AI becomes smarter than humans? The Future of Tech and Humanity

Google’s head of technology research, Ray Kurzweil, envisions a day when you will go to a store, and you will have the lens of your eye removed and replaced with a liquid that is packed with cameras, a communications device, and other electronics. You will be able to see in the dark with infrared vision, and you will even be connected to the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This sounds awesome! However, we must understand that with this comes the AI promise of constant supervision by those in power.

The Singularity

Humanity is moving towards something known as “the singularity.” Kurzweil explains in his book The Singularity is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology (2006) that artificial intelligence will become so advanced that it will become smarter than humans and evolve at an exponential rate. Scientists used to think AI was decades away from achieving the singularity. However, the recent explosions in AI development suggest that the singularity could in fact be imminent.

We don’t know what will happen after the singularity. The singularity is a term that expresses a condition beyond our comprehension. The term “singularity” is related to the physics of a black hole. The center of a black hole is called the singularity; it is characterized by infinite density and gravitational power. Space and time collapse at the singularity. The singularity cannot be explored using our current understanding of physics. To fully understand the nature of the singularity is to know the unknowable mind of God.

AI Levels of Progression

There are three levels of artificial intelligence, beginning with artificial narrow intelligence. This is what we’re experiencing in the public sphere right now. Everything you do online utilizes narrow artificial intelligence. When Apple Music offers a musical selection, or when Amazon suggests a product for you, this is artificial intelligence at its most basic level. Siri and Alexa are also great examples of artificial narrow intelligence, level one AI. Level one AI is broadening into Artificial General Intelligence, or level two AI. The Future of Tech and Humanity

This is where machines think like humans. We’re not quite there yet, but every advancement in narrow intelligence is drawing us closer to the general intelligence level of AI. An indication of how close we are to general AI is when Google’s artificial intelligence beat the champion of the world’s most complicated boardgame on January 27, 2016.

The third level of AI is the most troubling: Artificial Super Intelligence. This is where machines can become billions of times smarter than humans. At this point, AI will develop its own agendas. There are tremendous risks associated to this level of AI. Some people think that machines may achieve immortality or cause the extinction of humanity. We don’t know what will happen once machines achieve this level of intelligence.

AI Brings the Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

The World Economic Forum includes participants like Bill Gates and Elon Musk, who have made dramatic warnings concerning AI. I admire Elon Musk’s argument that AI development must be restrained. Musk started his own AI company because he recognizes his competitors are developing AI for nefarious purposes. Musk appears to be committed to developing a profitable AI that will be an ally to humanity. The Future of Tech and Humanity

The development of AI will greatly improve business, economics, physics, chemistry, and medicine. There will likely be unbelievable breakthroughs and solutions to major problems. Unfortunately, AI will cost the economy an unbelievable number of jobs. For example, ride-sharing drivers, restaurant waiters, maybe even police officers could lose their jobs to AI robots. We must understand where we are on the fast-paced journey towards the singularity. Every day, more and more artificially intelligent machines are making decisions for humans.

The Future of Tech and Humanity as AI is becoming a black box, meaning it has advanced to writing its own algorithms, and humans do not understand them. We don’t know how these artificially intelligent machines are coming to the conclusions that they’re coming to. That puts humanity in a compromised position. The European Union is already drafting legislation that gives citizens the right to demand that an artificially intelligent computer explain its solutions to a human. However, will AI continue to obey our commands when it becomes smarter than we are?

There is no way we can control advanced AI once it has been unleashed. The solution to this problem is for us to summon the Holy Spirit and Be Golden. All over the planet, there are engineers and scientists working on technologies with little or no oversight. This problem is only going to get worse. I believe that we can co-exist with AI if we make morality a priority in American culture. The United Creed ’s Be Golden campaign’s mission is to be the vehicle that restores morality in American culture. Check out The Troubling Truth
