Detoxifying regimen

e tuned into your health than most folks. Most people that I talk to aren’t even remotely aware of one of the most important aspects of maintaining their health in the modern western world. I am talking about an active detoxifying regimen.

There are a multitude of reasons for why this is the case. First, to maintain the illusion that our society promotes health and wellness, the issue of toxins and chemicals in our society and their impact is rarely discussed leading to ignorance about the subject. Second, once this knowledge is received few people are aware of what they can do to combat this assault on our bodies. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world and corruption is around every corner and under every rock in our society.

The poisons that have been created to facilitate industry in the modern world are not likely going away any time soon. Allow me to bring an informed perspective to arm you with the truth so you can learn how to protect yourself, your family, and your community.

Most of us have at least heard about pollution. Pollution was a big public concern back in the 70’s and 80’s with anti-littering campaigns with imagery of crying native Americans, but since that time the push has been to focus more on climate change, which in my opinion is a big nothing burger compared to the real climate catastrophe of pollution.

There are from time to time news articles about air pollution (the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking), the pollution of our oceans, and fresh water (The great pacific garbage patch, lead in the Flint, Michigan municipal water supply, and the catastrophe from the February 2023 train wreck in Ohio which released multiple toxic chemicals like vinyl chloride into the environment), but these stories rarely make front page news, and even when they do I think most people likely don’t consider them relevant to themselves or their families or communities. The truth is startling to say the least so let me share with you some relevant data that may change the way you think about this issue.

A recent study from the U.S. Geological survey found that nearly half of all tap water in the United States is contaminated with the “forever chemicals” PFAS and PFOS. These chemicals are linked to thyroid disease, cholesterol imbalances, decreased fertility and hormone suppression, liver damage, and also cancer and can be very problematic for health even at very low levels according to the EPA.

Another common practice in municipal water systems is fluoridating the water to reduce cavity formation in teeth, and kill living contaminants, a practice that came directly from the U.S nuclear arms program (Manhattan Project) as fluoride is a nuclear waste byproduct. It was sold to the American public that fluoride improves dental health and reduces cavity formation.

According to the CDC, over 70% of municipal water supplies are still fluoridating water. Fluoride has no beneficial effect on health, and has been linked to dental fluorosis, cancer, arthritis, reduced IQ, adverse effects during pregnancy, and kidney disease. Overall, there have been at least 80,000 new chemicals released into the environment since World War II (although some estimates are as high as 50 million) and most of these have not been adequately tested for their impact on human health as reported in a 2008 study published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences.

This same study also states, “there have been no tests to assess the combined impacts of the “chemical soup” to which children are exposed. WHO, UNICEF, and UNEP have reported a growing number of children’s health impacts caused by exposure to hazardous chemicals, including asthma, birth defects, hypospadias, behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, autism, cancer, dysfunctional immune systems, neurological impairments, and reproductive disorders.” With that being said, it is also true that cancer, autism, and behavioral and learning disorders are now at all-time record highs. Additionally, our domestic food supply is contaminated with herbicides and pesticides, and many of them in the United States are also genetically modified which comes with it’s own set of health problems.

Overall, what most people are completely unaware of is that we are all living in that toxic “chemical soup” that is mentioned in multiple studies. Unfortunately, if you talk to your conventionally practicing healthcare provider about this topic, you will find that they are mostly ignorant about it as we are not trained in medical schools about the relationship between chemicals and health outside of the pharmacology domain.

The assumption of most people corresponds to the old DuPont advertising slogan, and incidentally this same slogan was also uttered by my medical school pharmacology professor, “better living through chemistry.” Public relations, AKA propaganda utilized skillfully by various industries has worked wonderfully to keep most people blind to this imminent and growing threat to our health.

Now that I have taken you deep into the nightmare, let me wake you up and let you know that not all is lost. There are many things that can be done to minimize these impacts and detoxify your body from exposures to these chemicals. The first thing and likely the most impactful strategy that can be employed in this endeavor is to avoid these chemicals in the first place. I highly recommend that people utilize water filtration in their homes to avoid the many chemicals that find their way into the water supply.

I would say that any filtration is an improvement over the inadequacies of the current systems that are in place, but the best filtration is reverse osmosis. These systems can be easily installed under a kitchen sink, or even better installed for the entire home.

Reverse osmosis takes over 99% of contaminants out of the water, but they also take out the good mineral content of the water which is a negative aspect which can be easily overcome by the addition of a re-mineralization or alkalinizing filter to the system. Systems for drinking water installed under the kitchen sink are relative inexpensive ($200-ish).

Whole home systems are quite a bit more expensive and can cost several thousand dollars although they also protect you from absorbing these chemicals through the skin when you are bathing, which can be problematic in some individuals who may be more sensitive to these chemicals. Another tip would be to avoid these harmful chemicals by making more informed choices in the food that you eat. Eliminating or avoiding processed foods including fast-foods are a start.

It is also beneficial to avoid regular eating out in general, as restaurants rarely use organic ingredients and commonly use genetically modified ingredients as they are the least expensive and allow for increased profits. Organic produce, free range grass-fed/finished beef, free-range organic poultry/pork, and wild-caught (not farmed) fish are the best choices.

I regularly hear from people that they are skeptical about the “organic” label, and I completely understand as these foods still can contain “approved” chemicals. However, if you don’t eat from your perfectly clean home garden, the “organic” foods are still a significant step in the right direction. I like to use the phrase, “Eat God food, not man food” to illustrate this point. Man foods come from the commercial agriculture system which unfortunately has become entirely dependent on chemicals.

Think about a cow that is raised conventionally. It is given vaccines, steroids, antibiotics, hormones, and is fed a completely unnatural diet that consists mostly of pesticide/herbicide laden genetically modified grains to speed growth and maximize profits. This combined with the concentration-camp like environment of the feed lot ensures that these animals are unhealthy. People from bygone years who were more intimately connected with their food supply understood that it isn’t good to eat sick or unhealthy animals.

Due to our modern disconnection from where our food comes from, and deceptive labeling laws, it can be very difficult to understand this nuanced approach when deciding what to eat. Another thing to consider would be upgrading your homes HVAC system with HEPA-filtration, or invest in a HEPA air purifier.

Most people are surprised to find out that the air inside your home is likely to be up to 5 times more toxic than outdoor air, according to the EPA and HEPA filters are much more beneficial in reducing this exposure compared to the regular air filters that are commonly used in these systems. Finally, consider the personal-care products and cleaning products that we have in our homes. These products are almost always packed full of toxic ingredients, and there are cleaner options that in some cases are actually much less expensive.

Avoiding these chemicals and toxins with the above strategies will get you started on the path of improved quality of life, but you have already been exposed and are likely carrying a toxic load. The environmental working group (EWG) reviewed a study from the CDC in 2022 and found that over 80% of adults and 87% of children had measurable amounts of glyphosate, the active ingredient in RoundUp, in their urine. So how can we actively detox? The first thing I recommend is typically a sauna done at least 2-3 times per week.

Our skin is one of our most important detox organs, and sweating regularly speeds detoxification. A study from 2015 found that using sauna 4-7 times weekly reduced all-cause mortality by 40% compared to using it only once weekly. And 2-3 times weekly reduced all-cause mortality by 24% compared to once weekly use. This alone is mindboggling. There are very few things I can think of that can give you this level of reduction in all-cause mortality. Any type of sauna will work as long as you can get a good sweat going.

If you’re struggling with sweating while you’re in the sauna or during exercise, it’s a sign that your body’s detoxification system isn’t functioning optimally and you should seek professional guidance. Exercise is another important aspect of detoxification and aids in mobilizing toxins for elimination. To optimize health, I recommend 90-150 minutes per week of moderate cardiovascular exercises like brisk walking, jogging, rowing, or biking, and some sort of resistance training twice weekly.

This can be weights, kettlebell, calisthenics, or resistance bands. Next, castor oil packs over the liver can speed the liver’s ability to process toxins. There are multiple resources online that discuss how to do these and they can be done daily for maximal impact. Another practice that can speed up detoxification is the use of coffee enemas.

Although it may seem odd if you’ve never heard of this, the caffeine in coffee when put in the rectum/colon travels directly to the liver through the hepatic portal vein in the large intestine and improves the liver’s ability to detox. Finally, there are a handful of helpful supplements that can aid in detox through optimizing liver function. These are:

Alpha Lipoic Acid – 600-900mg daily, split into 2-3 doses

N-Acetyl Cysteine – 1200mg daily, split into 2 doses

TUDCA – 500mg daily

In conclusion, following the steps listed above will both limit your toxic exposure and aid in the body’s innate ability to detoxify. Some of these recommendations are more difficult than others to accomplish and some require an investment in resources. Do what you can and what is applicable to your situation, and when you find yourself struggling to make the right decision which will inevitably happen, always remember that comfort and convenience is what kill us.

There are many inexpensive toxic supplements out there that are full of heavy metals, and harmful binders, fillers, and additives. If you don’t have a good place to purchase quality supplements and would like to receive a discount through our online store, visit the Full script link below.

Movement in general is necessary for optimal health. Exercise is just purposeful movement with the intent of maximizing health and outcomes. In recent years and in tandem with the decline in smoking rates, a sedentary lifestyle has become widely known as “the new smoking”.

Why is this? A recent study from 2020 correlated sedentary lifestyles with reduced lipoprotein lipase activity, reduced muscle glucose levels, reduced protein transporter activities, impaired lipid metabolism, and diminished carbohydrate metabolism. Furthermore, it decreases cardiac output and systemic blood flow while at the same time activating the sympathetic nervous system, which ultimately reduces insulin sensitivity and vascular function resulting in even more problems with sex hormone stability and digestive capacity.

The end result is inability to maintain a healthy weight, chronic inflammation, and widespread metabolic dysfunction which has come to be the norm in the American population. Sedentary lifestyles contribute almost more than any other single factor to the health crisis we face as Americans whether we are discussing something as seemingly benign as high blood pressure or as serious as a terminal cancer diagnosis.

The common misconception about exercise is that it is all about burning calories. This theory of the purpose of exercise contributes to a more comprehensive understanding known as the “calories in – calories out” model of metabolism. The problem with this is simply that it is not true.

Everyone has known at least one person who is largely overweight or obese and eats relatively little, and to the contrary someone who is very thin and eats like a horse! The reason for this is that our metabolisms are quite complicated and there are an almost infinite number of variables. One would be our diet. Another our microbiome. Yet another would be our activity level.

Ultimately, it is the efficiency of how our body communicates with itself that makes the difference in maintaining health and wellness. This intricate process is controlled through highly complex signaling systems that orchestrate the body’s internal harmony. These systems enable one cell to communicate seamlessly with its neighbor, allow distant tissues to relay information to one another, and coordinate activities across organ systems. Such communication is achieved through electrical signals that flow along nerves, chemical signals carried by hormones and neurotransmitters, and even quantum mechanisms that are not yet fully understood by modern science.

Movement

Electrical signaling forms the backbone of rapid communication, such as the transmission of nerve impulses that allow us to react instantly to stimuli. Chemical signaling, on the other hand, facilitates slower, more sustained messages, regulating processes like growth, metabolism, and immune responses. Emerging research into quantum biology suggests that quantum phenomena may play a role in critical processes such as enzyme activity and even DNA repair, underscoring the complexity of these systems.

When these signaling pathways function optimally, the body maintains balance, adapting efficiently to challenges. However, disruptions in these pathways, often caused by poor diet, stress, or environmental toxins, can lead to miscommunication and the breakdown of systems, highlighting the importance of nurturing the body’s signaling mechanisms.

Exercise is a crucial factor in managing how well these communication systems function as they are exercised every time you perform physical work. The more you exercise, the better these communication systems function and the better your body works. Calories have very little to do with exercise when you get right down to it.

Of the most accepted recommendations for physical exercise are the 2018 guidelines from the CDC. This also keeps it super simple, which is certainly a plus. The guidelines are:

Adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week – such as 30 minutes daily, 5 days a week.

Adults also need 2 days per week focused on muscle-strengthening activity.

It’s that simple! Work yourself up to that level of activity and you will effectively reduce your all-cause mortality risk by 40%. For a much more impressive reduction in all-cause mortality add in regular sauna 3x weekly to keep your body free from toxins, and regular cold-therapy to exercise your autonomic nervous system. That’s what we call living well!

Benefits of Daily Movement for Overall Health

Daily movement plays a vital role in maintaining and improving overall health. It doesn’t have to be rigorous exercise; even light physical activities such as walking, stretching, or engaging in household chores can have a profound impact. Regular movement boosts cardiovascular health by improving blood circulation and reducing the risk of heart disease. It enhances muscular strength and joint flexibility, making daily tasks easier and reducing the likelihood of injuries. Additionally, movement aids in digestion, helping the body process nutrients more efficiently.

Mental health benefits are equally significant. Daily movement releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, which combat stress, anxiety, and depression. It also improves sleep quality, ensuring the body gets the rest it needs to function optimally. Moreover, consistent movement can enhance brain function, improving memory and focus. By incorporating movement into your daily routine, you create a foundation for long-term physical and mental well-being.

How to Incorporate More Movement into Your Daily Routine

Adding more movement to your daily routine doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small, manageable changes can make a big difference over time. Start by setting reminders to stand up and stretch every hour, especially if you have a desk job. Incorporate walking into your day by parking farther away from entrances or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

Household chores like cleaning or gardening can also double as physical activity. You can make your errands more active by biking instead of driving or walking while carrying your groceries. If you’re at home, try short bursts of exercise during TV commercial breaks, such as squats or light stretching. Social activities like dancing, playing sports, or taking walks with friends or family are great ways to stay active while enjoying quality time.

Gradually, these small habits can build up, making movement a natural and enjoyable part of your daily life.

Easy Physical Exercises for Beginners at Home

Starting a fitness journey doesn’t require a gym membership or fancy equipment. There are plenty of easy exercises you can do at home to improve your fitness level. Begin with bodyweight exercises such as squats, push-ups, or lunges, which strengthen muscles and improve coordination. These exercises can be modified to suit your fitness level, ensuring they remain accessible.

Yoga and stretching routines are also excellent for beginners, improving flexibility and reducing stress. For cardio, try low-impact activities like walking in place or dancing to your favorite songs. Resistance bands can add variety to your workouts without taking up much space.

Consistency is key, so aim for short, manageable sessions—10 to 15 minutes a day—and gradually increase duration as you build strength and confidence. With time, these simple exercises can significantly enhance your physical fitness and set the stage for more challenging routines.

Importance of Movement for Mental Health and Well-Being

Movement isn’t just beneficial for the body; it’s a powerful tool for improving mental health and well-being. Physical activity triggers the release of endorphins, which are natural chemicals that elevate mood and create feelings of happiness. Regular movement can also reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol, helping you feel calmer and more balanced.

Exercise, even in moderate forms like walking or yoga, can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. It boosts self-esteem and provides a sense of accomplishment, which can be especially helpful during challenging times. Additionally, movement enhances cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain, improving memory, focus, and overall mental clarity.

Engaging in physical activity also promotes better sleep patterns, essential for mental health. Whether it’s a brisk walk, dancing, or stretching, incorporating movement into your routine can create a positive feedback loop that benefits both the mind and body.

As far as natural health practices/remedies are concerned, there are so many things that one can do. Having said that, it is possible to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on “extras” that I would not recommend unless one is already consistently sticking with the basic pillars of health including good nutrition, hydration, regular movement, and peace in their lives.

Assuming that these basic pillars are already being tended to in one’s life, I do recommend some basic supplements and practices. Many people shun recommendations for supplements and think that our needs can be completely met with a quality diet, but basic supplementation is essential in today’s world of reduced nutrition, even when we are eating the best quality foods. In 2004, Donald Davis and colleagues at the University of Texas discovered after assaying 43 foods, mostly vegetables, that there was a marked decrease in nutrients between the mid and late 20th century. This study found a 43% decrease in the amount of calcium in green beans, an almost 50% reduction in vitamin A levels in asparagus, and broccoli stalks with significantly less iron. Another study published in 2020 revealed that magnesium content in fruits and vegetables has dropped precipitously in the last 50 years, and about 80% of what remains is lost in food processing. When considering what the science has to say, it’s definitely a good strategy to supplement our diet with some basic essential vitamins and minerals taken on a regular schedule.

I think just about everyone should take a magnesium supplement. My preference is MagSRT by Jigsaw health. Magnesium is our “master mineral” and is a required cofactor for the production of almost half of the enzymes required in our body to maintain balance. Then, a quality cod liver oil taken daily can provide an abundance of vitamin A and the Omega 3’s that we so desperately need to quell inflammation from additives and Omega 6’s present in vegetable and seed oils that permeate our diets. Vitamin A is essential for neurologic health including eye health. In fact, the part of the eye that sends signals to the brain for processing is called the retina because the most significant vitamin required for it’s function, Vitamin A, is retinol. Vegetarian sources of vitamin A are beta-carotenes, which are very poorly converted into what our bodies use, retinol. Vitamin D is another supplement I recommend across the board for its immune building and cancer fighting properties. There has been a plethora of data gathered in recent decades about the benefits of taking vitamin D supplements. I generally prefer D3 combined with K2 (with an Mk7 component) taken on a daily basis to keep levels above 65 for optimal health. It is incredibly rare to see any person with levels this high without supplementation for many different reasons. Finally, I also like selenium in the form of selenium selenite to provide extra antioxidant protection and to aid endocrine function along the HPA axis due to the many endocrine disrupting chemicals in our environment.

If the pillars of health are already being followed, and one is taking some good basic daily supplements to support optimal function, there are many other things that can be done to gain even more advantages over their health. Three of my personal favorites are regular saunas, red light therapy, and cold therapy. Studies have shown significant improvements in all-cause mortality with all three of these therapies, and they are also known to improve stress responses, which is a significant benefit in our stressful world.

Applying the above recommendations to an already healthy lifestyle should improve one’s health and wellness exponentially when consistently applied. Keep in mind that although there is an almost infinite list of things to add, sticking to the basics is typically enough to keep you well.

The solution to our problems is simple: we must remain in close connection with God (the essence of good), but achieving it isn’t easy. The world has become an increasingly busy place, full of distractions designed to consume as much of our attention as possible. These distractions can cause us to neglect our responsibility to remain in a healthy relationship with God. It is no surprise that mental health is spiraling out of control.

I am a busy father of three, I have a job that keeps me very busy, and I also choose to spend time focused on my health. It gets easy to neglect the most important thing we were created for—a close spiritual connection with God. My wife and I wake up an hour early to make sure we get our spiritual time in before the kids wake up. It is important that you set aside 30 minutes to 1 hour of your day to focus on your mental and spiritual wellbeing. We encourage you to share what is working for you on our community blog. I find the most value in the spiritual exercises I have laid out below.

Attend to God’s Words

I am inspired by Proverbs 4:20. God said, “attend to my words,” which means put God’s word first. Read it, study it, learn it, meditate on it, and act on it. That is exactly what God wants me to do! He wants me to shut out everything around me and give my undivided attention to what His word is saying to me. A Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is a great way to focus on God.

DBS was developed by David L. Watson and Paul D. Watson and is used around the world. It is the most effective tool I have found to discover what the Bible is saying to me.

I begin every day with a 15 to 30-minute Discovery Bible Study. I follow my church (CrossBridge Community Church) Bible study. I open the app, go to the weekly bible sturdy, and I read the Bible passage for the day, and then I meditate on six questions:

What is going on in this passage?

What does this passage say about God?

What does it say about people?

What is its good news?

How would life change if people followed these teachings?

What should I do (or avoid doing) to apply it to my life?

After I meditate on each of these questions, I journal the answers that God gave me. I open my daily DBS time with this prayer:

Heavenly Father, guide me as I read and reflect on Your word today. I want to discern Your voice from all other voices. Father, I acknowledge that the Holy Spirit never speaks to me in a way that contradicts the Holy Bible. I proclaim that I will reject what is coming from the enemy and that I will only receive and obey what is from You. Father, I welcome your Holy Spirit, speak to me as I study Your word today, I pray all these things in Jesus’s name, Amen.

DBS is a critical part of my relationship with God. Understanding the word of God empowers me to reject evil.

Listen to God’s Sayings

God has taught me to listen to what He is saying. I don’t understand how it works, but God doesn’t require me to understand how it works. All He asks me to do is believe. I don’t understand how a lot of things work, but I know what makes it work. Faith in what God is saying makes it work. I open my ears to the word of God and turn off everything else so that my undivided attention is on what He has to say. That is where my victory lives. When I close my ears to outside things and keep my ears open to God, I close my heart and mind to fear, doubt, and unbelief.

When the word of God and what He communicates to me in my prayer time gains entrance into my heart and spirit, my faith will grow. My faith in God’s word is the secret that unlocks the door to supernatural strength, hope, love, and comfort.

We must learn to listen to what God has to say about every situation. We shouldn’t listen to what everyone else is saying, because sometimes their message can weaken us spiritually.

Let God’s Words Not Depart from Your Eyes.

I am to look as well as listen. When I battle cancer, I look to the promises of God instead of looking at the circumstances.

When I consider my experience with cancer, I feel the presence of that condition. But I don’t respond to it. Instead, I look to what God has promised in Scripture.

We need to respond to His word no matter what circumstances we may face. Unfortunately, most people don’t want to respond to His word if it means they must live according to Scripture. They don’t want to take responsibility for changing their lifestyle. But there is great power in being faithful to God’s word: faithfulness in the good times prepares us to turn to God when times are hard. Don’t let God’s promises depart from before your eyes. They will give you life!

After my 15-minute DBS, I set aside another 15 minutes for Freedom Prayer. This time in meditation energizes me with unwavering faith. I cannot guide my boat by myself. I step inside the Ark; God wants to seal me inside it like Noah. I do my best to obey everything He places on my heart, and I rely completely on Him to guide me. I use this prayer to help me focus:

Father, You are the God of goodness. You are grace, mercy, compassion and love. Father, I pray for your Holy Spirit to come, first in me, and then through me for others. Father, I admit that I am a sinner, and I tune my heart’s resolve to Your song. I want to live the way You say is best for me. Father, include me in the work You are doing today. I want to share Your goodness with others. I give You this time today because I love You, and I want to have a meaningful relationship with You. Father, show me what you want me to focus on, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and guide me through this day. I rely completely on You. Please show me the way.

After I repeat this prayer a few times, I silently wait for God to speak to me in meditation. I ask Him to give me an image of Jesus to warm up my mind’s eye and prepare me for what He wants to share with me. I ask God the following questions:

Father, what about me delights You?

What is something I did this week that You are celebrating?

In what ways am I seeking to earn Your favor rather than living by grace?

What does my heart need to hear most right now?

Is there something specific You want me to do today?

Is there someone You would like to bless through me today?

I never get an answer to all my questions, but I give Him time to speak to each one.

My struggle with cancer does not define my entire experience with God. Sometimes, God gives me an image of a friend or family member that needs support, or He encourages me to be bold in loving my neighbor. Sometimes, God speaks through my inner voice with something to contemplate or consider, and sometimes He gives me a specific memory or song lyrics. The Holy Spirit communicates with me when I give Him my time and focus.

When I start my day with God, I am prepared to experience hope, peace, joy, and comfort, and I give thanks for God’s promises. This practice has a profound impact on the rest of my day. A healthy relationship with God makes it natural to Be Golden.

Freedom Prayer has worked well for us, and we encourage all members to share what is working for you on our community blog.

Below is an expanded look at Freedom Prayer, which will give you the tools you need to face the everyday adversities of life.

Here’s my perspective on how it works:

Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. The most important thing for us to do as humans (Mark 12:30-31). God communicates to us through these channels. To love God, you must have a healthy relationship with God. That means you have to give God your undivided attention and communicate with Him. Freedom Prayer provides practical tools that help us use these channels of communication to establish a strong connection with God. Investing in your connection with God is the greatest thing you can do for yourself and your family. I will walk you through the Freedom Prayer and meditation processes in this segment.

Before we dive in, it is important to note that one of the enemy’s favorite tricks is to try and fool us into thinking he is God, and that is why he hacks into the same channels that God uses to communicate with us. The enemy tries to get into our minds and hearts to plant lies that lead us towards sin and death. Some people do awful things and claim an inner voice told them to do it. That is why it is incredibly important for the people of our country to understand how to recognize and reject what is not coming from God, so that we only allow the essence of good into ourselves. The best way to do that is to study scripture and understand the character of God. Scripture tells us His love for us is like that of a perfect loving father. God’s communication is ALWAYS:

1) Consistent with scripture.
2) Consistent with God’s character as a good father.
3) Full of grace and truth

His voice can sometimes convict us as He reveals how we can be a better reflection of His love, but God’s voice is never condemning. He loves you no matter what.

When we are in prayer or meditation and receive something that conflicts with any of these characteristics, we can be assured it is not God who is communicating with us, and the message can be rejected. There are other voices that try to interfere with and overshadow God’s communication with us. One inner voice that competes with God’s voice is our own inner voice. Our personal will can sometimes overshadow what God is trying to show us. That is why it is important to ask God out loud to show or tell you the answer.

To understand how we can love God with all our heart, soul and mind. Please close your eyes and have the Holy Bible app read to you Psalms 23. Open the app, go to the bible section, find the book of Psalms, and select #23. Find a quite space, then close your eyes and hit play, and let the narrator read it to you as you visualize what you are hearing. When finished, answer the questions below.

Did you get a vision of a shepherd?

What did he look like?

What was he wearing?

Where were you?

Were you close to the shepherd?

Or was he far away from you?

What was surrounding you?

Did the Psalm trigger a particular emotion or feeling?

Did you get a vision of green pastures and still waters?

Did you get a vision of a dark valley?

Where were you in this vision?

Was anyone else in the vision?

What was around you?

Did this vision stir up an emotion?

If the feeling wasn’t life giving, ask God to show you when the first time you had the negative emotion. Then, ask Him if that caused you to believe a lie. Ask God to show you what the truth is about that situation, and wait for Him to speak. He may give you an image in your mind, He may speak through your inner voice, or he may pop some song lyrics into your min. God will speak life to you if you wait for Him.

Freedom Prayer takes time; it cannot be done effectively in a rush. I typically take several pauses in prayer and meditation to journal things God has communicated to me. Freedom Prayer guides you through a process that gets you to God, so that you receive exactly what you need to face whatever darkness is present in your life. Freedom Prayer ministry calls this process the fruit loop. You can use this prayer exercise as you enter Freedom Prayer alone. When you get good at it, you can start using the tools to help your family maintain inner freedom and wellness. Here is how it works:

1) Fruit – Ask God to reveal the bad fruit that is present in your life (anger, fear, shame)
2) Root – Where did it come from and why? Trace bad fruit back to its bad root. Drift back in time, invite the Holy Spirit in to show you; ask God to reveal the first time you experienced the bad fruit, including first occurrences, origins and reasons.
3) Boot – Get rid of the bad roots that are producing the bad fruit. Bad fruit is always rooted in at least one of three things: wounding, sin, or ungodly beliefs.
4) Loot – Ask God what blessing He wants to give you for life and healing. Take back what was stolen. God intends for our healing and restoration to cost the enemy something.
5) Scoot – What life choices and changes do I need to make to guard our new freedom. We need to walk out and defend the new ground that has been taken from the enemy. Victory is product of both God’s power and human will and desire. We need to identify steps, decisions, and actions that should be taken to make the inner freedoms permanent.

How to Eliminate Bad Roots

Bad fruit is always rooted in at least one of three things, wounding, sin, ungodly beliefs.

When we partner with God to trace the bad fruit (anger, shame, guilt) back to one of these roots, we can partner with God to address the problem at the root and experience inner healing in a lasting and sustainable way.

WOUNDING: (FORGIVE AND BLESS).

Matthew 18:21-22: Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”

1. Count the debt: Make a list of all the offenses or sins the person has damaged you with.

2. Cancel the debt: “In the name of Jesus, I choose to forgive (say the person’s name) and cancel their debt to me.”

3. Repent of judging: “Jesus, I repent of judging and instead I give all judgment to You.”

4. Bless: “Lord, I bless in your name. Will you show this person how much you love them?”

5. Ask for needs to be met: “Jesus, I trust all of my needs to be met in You. Will you meet those needs?

SIN: (CONFESS AND REPENT)

1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

1. Reveal the sin: “God, is there any place in my life that is not yielded to Your authority?”

2. Get God’s perspective: “Jesus, will You show me how this sin has impacted my life?”

3. Confess & Repent: “God, I confess I have chosen to sin, but I repent of that choice today and choose to follow You.”

4. Receive blessing: “I ask You, God, to fill the empty, clean places with Your forgiveness, blessing, and Spirit.”

UNGODLY BELIEFS: (RENOUNCE & BELIEVE)

John 8:31-32: “To those who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”

1. Reveal the lie: “Lord, what am I believing that causes inner struggle (feelings of anger, guilt, unworthiness, abandonment, or whatever you are wrestling with)?”

2. Hear truth: “Lord, if I have been believing a lie…what is the truth?”

3. Renounce the lie: “In the name of Jesus, I renounce the lie that (confess the lie you have been believing: you are not good enough, or you are not worthy of love, or bad things happen because something is wrong with you).”

4. Declare the truth: “I receive and declare the truth that nothing can change God’s love for me, and there is nothing I can do that will make God love me less.” Prayer leaders may use scripture to speak truth into the lie God has revealed.

Our connection with God is our compass of joy. If the enemy tries to hijack your connection with God, simply reject his attempts. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but God comes to bring life, and to bring it abundantly. When you find yourself receiving a message that is not life giving, confront it by asking God to reveal the truth about the lies of the enemy.

Our founders can testify that when you have the courage to team up with trained prayer leaders, you will gain the advantage of teaming up together with God to free yourself from what the enemy is using to pull you into darkness. Investing in your own inner wellness is the greatest thing you can do for your family.

Andy Reese and Jennifer Barnett have laid out the how to guide for establishing healthy relationship with God. We encourage everyone to read their book, Freedom Tools. We have provided our perspective on how the ministry works, but we encourage you to read the book yourself. Investing in yourself is the greatest thing you can do for your family. As you learn these tools, you can then use them to guide your family towards inner freedom and wellness.

After you read the Freedom Tools, we encourage you to go through Jennifer’s book Walking in Freedom. Our founders can testify that freedom prayer has the power to transform lives.

It’s important to note that Freedom Prayer ministry is typically conducted within a Christian context and is rooted in the belief in the power of prayer, the authority of Scripture, and the work of the Holy Spirit in facilitating healing and transformation. It often complements other forms of therapy or counseling and is not intended to replace professional mental health treatment.

Understanding the basics of metabolic terrain is essential to achieving optimal health. Unfortunately, we are used to observing poor health outcomes happening all around us, and though this is commonplace in our culture, it is unnecessary. We must get to the root of the problem. You may be asking yourself, “What the heck is metabolic terrain, and how is this supposed to make me healthy?” The answer can be as complex as you are willing to make it, but it can be summed up simply. Let’s start with the definition of “metabolism” and “terrain.”

Metabolism is a finely tuned process that dictates how our bodies make energy, eliminate waste, heal, fight infection, and reproduce, among many other things our bodies have the ability to do.

Terrain is descriptive of the features of an area, but of particular importance to us the word also includes information concerning the function and health of a particular area or “ecosystem.” Terrain can be used to describe the function and health of the human body. If one can look beyond the modern practices of big agriculture and investigate the past when everything was organic (and much healthier for us humans), we can see that the farmers of old understood this process intimately. The crops would only produce their fruits if the soil was nurtured, fertilized, and had optimal nutrition, which varied by crop and was controlled by old techniques of utilizing cover crops, crop rotation, natural fertilizers, and animal grazing. They understood that good soil is living and has balance, and they knew how to achieve it.

If we put the two words together, we have metabolic terrain. Much like the output of a farm depends on the health of the soil which boils down to different factors like what fertilizer is used, desired crop(s), and what irrigation is necessary, the health of a human being is dictated by several different inputs throughout their lives. I like to simplify these factors to 4 pillars of health: nutrition, hydration, movement, and peace. Nutrition includes diet and supplementation. Hydration includes fluid intake and dietary choices as many foods are good sources of hydration. Movement includes activity level and exercise. Peace is the most important pillar in our turbulent world, and it describes the balance of your emotional and spiritual states.

In short, if your metabolic terrain is balanced, you will have good health. Your body will be able to create energy, eliminate waste, heal, fight infection, procreate, and excel in all the other ways it is designed to function. If it is not, then you will certainly have health issues and it can seem like you are swimming against the current. Modern medicine has become very good at labelling symptoms as the problem and treating them without ever finding the root cause. Medicine and health focused on metabolic terrain is the answer as the root cause is the primary focus, and it will always point to dysfunction in one or more of the 4 pillars of health. Be well.

When talking about the importance of our diets, we are really discussing the nutrition pillar. Our diets are our main source of nutrition, and as such, the importance of the diet is paramount. To return to the farmer/terrain analogy, eating a diet lacking in proper nutrition would be the same as a farmer planting old seeds into unprepared, dead soil. In that case, something may be able to grow but it is not going to do well or have any significant yield. If we want to have abundant health, we must make good choices concerning the foods we eat. My rule can be summed up in one simple phrase, “God food, not man food.”

To take it a step further, one of the most detrimental health conditions we face as Americans leading to massive increases in all-cause mortality (death) is metabolic syndrome, a syndrome where the whole of metabolic function has become dysfunctional, largely through lack of nutrition. As of 2016, according to the CDC, over 35% of Americans had metabolic syndrome. In 2019, a study revealed that only 12% of Americans had optimal metabolic health. A significant portion of the root cause behind this is our collective diet. A study published in 2022 revealed that as of 2018, “ultra-processed” foods made up an astonishing 57% of the average American diet, and the intake of “minimally processed” foods declined significantly, attributing to only 27.4% of the diet. Ultra-processed foods likely make up nearly 70% of our diets now if the trends have continued. With that in mind and noting that only 12% of the American population has optimal metabolic health, what is the answer?

The ketogenic diet is the main tool in the fight against metabolic syndrome as this style of eating essentially “resets” energy metabolism and reverses metabolic syndrome. I have also personally overseen dozens of cases of reversed type 2 diabetes using this dietary strategy. My opinion as a trained clinician is that metabolic syndrome and type 1.5/2/3 diabetes are not diseases, but rather poor nutritional states that are indeed reversible in the vast majority of cases.

There are thousands of online resources available that vary in their understanding and instruction of the ketogenic diet, but my favorite two will be provided below. The key to success on the ketogenic diet is to not be afraid in the kitchen or to try new things. Those who are too picky with foods or who are not willing to put in the work will struggle. There are also a couple of nutritional ideas that have been propagandized in the Creed States that are untrue and can lead to cognitive dissonance when considering the ketogenic diet:

1) Fat makes you fat – false
2) Cholesterol is the reason for cardiovascular disease – false

Ketogenic resource sites:

https://ketogenic.com/
https://keto-mojo.com/

Keep in mind that regardless of the style of diet you choose, be it ketogenic, paleogenic, carnivore, or Mediterranean, which are all significant improvements compared to the aptly named standard American diet (SAD), stick with God food, not Man food, and be well.
